Blacklist a Customer

The blacklist is designed to block individuals from submitting returns through the Loop Customer Portal.  

By adding a customer email address or order number into the blacklist field, the associated customer will not be able to enter the app, submit a request, or generate a
return label. All return requests must be executed manually for a blacklisted customer. 

This feature is best used with customers that are taking advantage of your return policy.

Bulk Blacklisting

The blacklist can also be used to restrict a list of orders, customers, or products. This is designed for flash-sales, clearance items, Black Friday/Cyber Monday, and other promotions that would require multiple products or orders to be marked Final Sale during a set period of time.

To bulk blacklist using all of the scenarios listed below at once, simply create a single .CSV document with relevant products, order numbers, and/or email addresses included.

All .CSV uploads should contain 2 columns. The first column is type; order or product. The second column is the blacklist value. 

Bulk blacklist by order number

  • Upload a .CSV with Shopify orders to blacklist them in bulk. This is useful when running flash sales or other promotions, ensuring that order numbers listed in the .CSV will not be returnable through the Loop customer portal at any time. The first column in the row will be the type, "order". 

Bulk blacklist by product, site-wide

  • Upload a .CSV with a blacklist value Shopify SKUs, Product IDs, or Variant IDs to mark them final sale. By blacklisting products this way in the Listing tab, you’ll disallow the items from being returned in all orders regardless of when they were created in Shopify.This feature offers functionality in addition to the Final Sale tags found in your Admin. Final Sale tags are only picked up if they are present on an product when the order is created. Bulk blacklisting products with a .CSV allows you to retroactively designate products Final Sale, even if the tag was not present when the order was created.  The first column in the row will be the type, "product". 

Bulk blacklist by product, within specific orders

  • Upload a .CSV with three columns: 1) Type "product" 2) Shopify order name, and 3) the associated Shopify SKU, Product ID, or Variant ID to be marked final sale. By blacklisting products this way in the Listing tab, you’ll disallow the items from being returned only in specific orders, regardless of when they were created in Shopify.
