Manage Returns in Loop from Shopify Admin

Manage return in Loop is a Shopify admin action that lets your support team check Loop return status and start new returns without leaving Shopify. Available from the More actions menu on any order, it surfaces return summaries and deep links directly into Loop admin.

What It Does

The Manage return in Loop action appears in the More actions menu on every order page in Shopify Admin. Clicking it opens a modal that shows the order name and Shopify order ID, along with a summary card for each Loop return on that order — including status, item count, return value, and date created. If no returns exist yet, the modal says so and offers a path to start one.


Using the Action

To access it:

  1. Open any order in Shopify Admin

  2. Click More actions in the top-right action bar

  3. Select Manage return in Loop

If a return exists:

The modal shows a summary card for each return. From here you can:

  • View return in Loop — opens the return in Loop merchant admin

  • Start return — opens Find an order in Loop admin with the order number pre-filled

If no return exists:

The modal shows a message that no Loop returns were found for this order. Use Start return to begin one.

Note: Clicking View return in Loop or Start return opens Loop in a new browser tab. You'll need to be logged into Loop admin to continue.


Requirements

No configuration is required in Loop or Shopify. The action is available automatically once:

  • The Loop Returns Shopify app is installed on your store

  • Your shop is active in Loop

Important: Support staff need active Loop admin access to follow the deep links into Loop. Shopify Admin permissions are sufficient to view the modal itself.

Where do I find this in Shopify Admin?
Open an order → More actionsManage return in Loop.

Do I need to set anything up?
No. If Loop Returns is installed and your shop is active, the menu item appears automatically.

What does Start return do?
Opens Loop's Find an order page with the order number already filled in and searched — no copy/paste needed.

Can I start a return if one already exists?
Yes. You can use Start return to begin an additional return on the same order.

Can shoppers use this?
No. This is for merchant support staff in Shopify Admin only.

The modal says "Loop is not activated for this merchant." What does that mean?
Your shop isn't active in Loop. Contact your Loop account manager or reach out to support.

"Manage return in Loop" isn't showing in More actions. What should I do?
Confirm the Loop Returns Shopify app is installed on your store. If it is and the option still doesn't appear, contact Loop support.
