Release Notes: September 2023
New features
Ship by Loop
Ship by Loop is a new shipping service that allows merchants to seamlessly connect a shipping integration without having to create an account with a third-party shipping service. It enables merchants to configure their carriers and start generating shipping labels without leaving the Loop platform.
The benefits include:
Simplified setup for shipping providers in Loop
Faster onboarding and time to value for merchants
Consolidated vendors and services
Ship by Loop currently supports USPS, FedEx, and UPS. This new shipping service directly benefits new merchants onboarding to Loop. If a shipping service is already configured in the Loop admin, there is no need to switch to Ship by Loop at this time.
To learn more, please review the Ship by Loop article.
Item grading and dispositioning
The item grading and dispositioning feature pulls warehouse inspection data into the Loop admin. Through equipping merchants with this information, the following can be accomplished:
Have a centralized view for all returns data within Loop
Reduce returns fraud by better identifying bad actors and setting Workflows to limit their future actions
Improve product lifecycle by better identifying products with manufacturing issues

Faster reports: we’ve made some behind-the-scenes changes to speed up the load time for generating analytics and reports.
Data clarity: we’ve added more tooltips and data definitions to make it easier to interpret the information in each dashboard.
Currency matching: all monetary values will now be displayed in the store’s applicable currency, eliminating the need for manual conversion.

Canada Post QR codes
Loop now supports QR codes for Canada Post labels. This new printerless option provides a more convenient drop-off experience, giving more opportunities to delight customers and boost LTV.
The QR code is visible on the Return Status Page in the same place as printed labels. Customers can simply show the QR code when dropping off the package with the carrier. Learn more in the Printerless Returns article.
Fixes and improvements
Photo Upload
Loop has improved the uploaded photo component on the return detail page. The new experience will display thumbnail images of photos vs. text links, giving merchants the optionality to open the image in a new tab or download the image directly.
Exchange portal enhancements
In the interest of continually improving the customer experience, Loop has made minor UI/UX improvements and feature enhancements to the portal.
To learn more about what has changed, please review the following—
Product info now appears below the image on the left side of the modal, to create a more intuitive structure, keeping product info on left and interactive/actionable elements to the right
References to product title, variant, and price have been removed from the header of right-hand modules, since it's now shown on the left side
A badge will appear at the top right of the product image when exchange only outcome is present
Single images and the selected carousel images now have rounded corners, the radius of which can be customized within the "corners" customization module.
Loop Point of Sale
In addition to Shopify name, email, order number, orders can now be looked up by using the Shopify receipt number. This improves convenience and optionality for merchants and serves more order outcomes.
