Checkout+: UI Customization
OVERVIEW
This article provides step-by-step instructions to adjust the appearance and text of the Checkout+ cart and additional information modal on the Checkout+ customizations screen.
Use the menu on the left to quickly navigate this article.
How it works
To customize the appearance of Checkout+:
In the Loop admin, navigate to Returns management > Shopper experience > Checkout+ customizations.
In the Checkout+ customizations menu, merchants can edit the styling of elements of both the cart and the additional info modal.
Within the cart section, you can toggle a Recommended tag to display a "Recommended" badge on the Checkout+ cart item, with a color theme selector to match your brand. You can also choose a thumbnail image: no thumbnail (default), the Loop refresh icon, or a custom uploaded image.
Scroll down on the same page to reach the modal section. You can remove the logo, keep the Loop default, or upload a custom brand logo. You can also upload a custom header image to display as a banner — this is optional and there is no default. Use the Desktop/Mobile toggle to preview how the modal looks at different screen widths before saving.
The cart and additional info text can also be edited by clicking Content customizations.
When finished, click Save.
Note: Saved changes may take a moment to appear in the merchant's Shopify store. If the changes aren't showing up, try waiting five to ten seconds and refreshing.
FAQ
Why don’t I see my changes immediately in my store? Saved updates may take five to ten seconds to appear in Shopify. If changes aren’t showing, try refreshing your storefront.
Can I preview exactly how my cart or modal will look in my store? The preview in the admin is designed to show styling changes like colors and font sizes, but it isn’t always a perfect 1:1 match with your storefront. Always save and refresh your live store to confirm how the updates appear in production.
Will a custom thumbnail work if my product title is long?
Yes, but longer titles like "Package Protection" may cause the cart item to span two lines, pushing the recommended tag upward and centering the thumbnail on the left. We recommend testing with your image before rolling out broadly.
Can I use a custom logo and header image in the modal at the same time?
Yes, these are configured independently and can both be active simultaneously.
Are these customizations available to all Checkout+ merchants?
Cart and modal UI customizations are only available for merchants on the new Checkout+ extension. If you don't see these options, reach out to your Merchant Success contact.
