Checkout+ Testing Steps

These steps outline the process for testing the Checkout+ functionality within Shopify and the Loop shopper portal.

Part 1: Initial Setup

1. Locate Checkout+ Product:

Navigate to the Products section in your Shopify admin. Search Pay now to unlock free returns to find the Checkout+ product.

2. Set Active:

NOTE: If the product's status is "Unlisted" then skip this step and move to step 3.

Change the product Status from "Draft" to "Active."

3. Check Sales Channels:

Check to ensure Publishing > Sales Channels includes "Online Store" and "Shop. If not, click the three dots and select them.

4. Check Markets:

if you are using Shopify Markets make sure they are configured for where you want Checkout+ to be sold.

  • Loop-paid labels: Checkout+ has to be on your US policy. It's optional to have Checkout+ on any other markets you support.

  • Merchant-paid labels: Checkout+ can be added to any market you support.

To change the market, click the three dots in the Publishing section and hit manage markets.

Part 2: Testing Preview Theme

1. Access Sales Channels:

In the Shopify admin go to Sales Channels > Online Store.

2. Preview Duplicate Theme:

Locate the theme with Checkout+ installed, click the three dots, and select Preview.

3. Add Product to Cart:

In the theme preview add any product to your shopping cart (e.g., a snowboard).

4. Verify Side Cart Options:

In the side cart, confirm that both "Checkout+" (and its information section) and

"Checkout without Checkout+" options are visible.

Note: The information section is customizable in the Loop admin)

5. Proceed to Checkout with Checkout+:

Click the "Checkout+" option.

6. Verify Checkout Page Display:

On the checkout page, confirm that "Pay Now to Unlock Free Returns" is displayed.

7. Test Opt-Out/Opt-In Functionality:

  • Opt-Out: Uncheck the box next to "Pay Now to Unlock Free Returns" to remove it from the order.

  • Opt-In: Check the box again to add it back to the order.

Note: Set the it back to "Draft" after testing is complete and until you are ready to launch.
