FlavorCloud Integration

Edited

OVERVIEW

The FlavorCloud integration removes the complexity and compliance challenges that typically prevent merchants from offering international returns. Cross-border returns are notoriously difficult, especially when it comes to generating customs paperwork, tracking parcels, and managing carrier handoffs. This results in long refund timelines, frustrated customers, and costly support overhead.

With this integration, merchants can offer global returns without needing to manually create labels, manage carriers, or handle customs paperwork.

Use Cases:

  • Generate international return shipping labels directly inside Loop

  • Automatically produce compliant customs documentation for each return

  • Sync return tracking statuses from FlavorCloud into the Loop merchant portal

  • Reduce refund timelines and improve the customer experience for international shoppers

  • Eliminate the need for brokers, spreadsheets, or manual document prep

This integration is owned and maintained by FlavorCloud.

How it works

When a return is initiated in Loop, FlavorCloud automatically generates a compliant return label and customs documents for the merchant.

The steps include:

  • Loop notifies FlavorCloud when a return is initiated

  • FlavorCloud responds by generating a return label and customs documentation

  • Tracking updates are pushed back into Loop, updating the return status

All data transfer is handled via secure webhooks. Merchants don’t need to manage or monitor data flow.

Setup

Note: You must be an existing customer of both Loop and FlavorCloud to use the Flavor Cloud integration.

To set up this integration, you will need your customer key from FlavorCloud and a webhook secret and API key from Loop.

  1. Obtain your customer key from your FlavorCloud account by going to the 'API’ section when logged into FlavorCloud. You’ll need to copy & paste this customer key in a later step

  2. In the Loop Admin, navigate to Returns management > Tools & integrations > Developer tools.

  3. Under Webhooks, click Create webhook

  4. Select Return created for the event type and choose Return for the response type. For the URL, input https://loop.flavorcloud.com/api/customers/{flavorcloud-customer-key}/webhooks with your unique customer key filled in, then click Add.

  5. Create another webhook: Select Label request.issued for the event type, choose Label request for the response type, and use the same URL you used for the last webhook. Then click Add.

  6. Create one last webhook: Select Label request.cancelled for the event type, choose Label request for the response type, and use the same URL you used for the last two webhooks. Then click Add.

  7. Note your webhook secret. You'll need this in a later step

  8. Navigate back to Developer Tools in the Loop Admin. Under API keys, click Generate API key

  9. Select the scopes listed below and name the API key “FlavorCloud API Key” This name is for your own internal labeling convenience. Click Generate to create a Loop API key. You'll need this API key in the next step

    1. Labels (read)

    2. Labels (write)

    3. Label Generation Requests (read)

    4. Label Generation Requests (write)

    5. Return

    6. Developer Tools

    7. Destinations (read)

    8. Destinations (write)

  10. Send both your webhook secret & API key to FlavorCloud

  11. Once connected by the FlavorCloud team, you will need to add FlavorCloud as the label provider on the respective return policies you want FlavorCloud to create labels for in Loop:

    1. Navigate to Returns management > Policy settings > Return policies.

    2. Create a new return policy or edit an existing one.

    3. Ensure that Generate labels is toggled on.

    4. Under Label provider, select External connector.

Note: Returns using external connector labels are handled in Loop Admin the same way as other returns. Merchants can still view return details such as the return's event history, destination address, and tracking number. As with other returns, merchants are also able send the label by email.
