New Features

Fraud Reporting

Merchants will now see the ability to report a return as fraudulent or abusive at the top of each return. These reports will be used to inform Loop’s fraud and abuse monitoring model which will be available to merchants later this year. This model will be used to give merchants better intelligence around identifying potential cases of abuse.

Google Single Sign-On

Single Sign-On (SSO) is an authentication method that allows users to verify their login identities securely (even with multiple applications and websites) by using just one set of credentials, which is a more secure and convenient way to login. Loop lets merchants use Google SSO (also known as "Continue with Google") to log in to the Loop admin.

You can now use Google SSO, also known as “Continue with Google,” to access Loop. Learn More.

Multi-Shop Login

Any Loop user email can now be associated with multiple accounts, which will make login simpler for merchants with multiple Loop instances. If an existing Loop user's email is invited to a new shop within their organization, they may log in to that shop with the same email as previous shops. Once logged into an instance, you can easily toggle between Loop shops under that user email.

Different Priced Exchanges

Loop now supports the ability to capture the difference, whether upsell revenue or a partial refund, on different-priced Variant and Advanced Exchanges. This feature opens up opportunities for new revenue and gives customers the ability to shop among curated options for different products without needing to go through Shop Now.

This feature is only available for merchants on Advanced plans. Merchants on Starter and Essential can still offer different priced exchanges on Variant and Advanced Exchanges, but will not be able to capture the difference.

For merchants on Starter or Essential, there’s been a slight UI change for this setting:

Workflow Updates

Incompatibility Flags

There are certain conditions and actions that are not compatible with one another in the Workflows tool. Loop has added more visibility to indicate which actions cannot be used with certain conditions. If an action can’t be used in combination with a condition, it will be greyed out with an exclamation point.

To learn more about these updates, please review our Workflows: Use Cases and Limitations article.

Hide Products Action

Loop has added a new action into Workflows that enables merchants to hide products from appearing on the order upon lookup. This use case is most commonly applied for add-on line items that are non-returnable, such as shipping insurance or customization line items, that merchants do not want to show as part of the original order during the returns flow.

Admin Totals Improvements

In the admin, Loop has added the ability to see a full price breakdown to provide further visibility into line item totals. In this view, merchants can see the item base price and the taxes assessed to that particular item.

Accounting Settings

The Loop discount and exchange tax settings in the Loop are now in the General Settings tab of the Loop admin. These settings were previously on the backend and and required Loop to adjust these settings on the merchant’s behalf, but now merchants can self-serve in the admin. The setting configurations have all remained the same, so no changes to exchange accounting settings have been made.

To learn more about these settings, please visit the Exchange Accounting Overview article.

Return Reason Reports Change

Loop has added the reason_id back into the Return Reason by Product, Return Reason by SKU and the Return Reason by Line Items reports. Each return reason is assigned a unique ID in Loop and that is what appears in this field. This ID was present on the return reason reports previous to the migration to Looker and we have reintroduced it to enable easier reporting within Loop for merchants.

Point of Sale Updates

Loop continuously releases updates to improve the experience and usability of the Loop POS app.

Version 2.2.6

Merchants can now view the current app version under "User Profile" once logged in.

Version 2.2.8 Once connected, Admin users will stay logged in for 2 weeks.
