Release Notes: November 2024
New Features
Multiple Label Returns (Beta)
Merchants can now generate more than one label for returns that require multiple boxes for shipping! This is useful for merchants who sell large items that come in multiple parcels or large orders that come in split shipments.
This feature is currently in Beta, so you will need to your Merchant Success Manager or support@loopreturns.com to get started.
Learn more in the Multi-Label Returns (Beta) Help Center article.
Locations Management
Merchants can now have control over what locations are referenced when displaying inventory for exchanges in the Loop portal. Locations can also be configured according to return policy.
This feature is useful in the following circumstances:
Warehouses in different countries. Merchants can configure it so that shoppers can only shop for inventory available in their country
Brick-and-mortar locations. Merchants can make it so unfulfillable inventory in stock at stores does not show up as available inventory in the Loop portal.
To learn more, visit the Help Center article.
Line item return fees Merchants can now assess fees per returned line item, reducing the cost of returns and the impact of bracketing. This can help merchants recoup costs and incentivize or disincentivize behavior through more dynamic fees.
This can be configured under the handling fees action in Workflows.
Fixes + Improvements
Instant Exchange (IX) Partial Refunds (Beta)
On Instant Exchange orders, merchants can now select individual lines items to be refunded. If you’d like to test out this feature, please reach out to your Merchant Success Manager or support@loopreturns.com.
Partial IX refunds are helpful when a shopper:
Mails their return on time and is not charged, but an item is missing or in unsatisfactory condition, then you can charge the customer for specific that item.
Fails to mail their return on time and is charged, but sends it later on, partially refund the customer for what was sent back in satisfactory condition.
To learn more, please visit the Instant Exchange article.
Native Shopify Exchanges (Beta) Loop is leveraging Shopify’s new Native Exchange functionality to reduce complexity in exchange order creation and simplify exchange accounting. If you want to check to see if you’d be a good candidate for the beta, please reach out to your Merchant Success Manager or support@loopreturns.com
To learn more, visit the Shopify Native Exchanges (Exchanges Primitive).
Return window based on delivery state You can now set their return window based on the delivery date rather than fulfillment date. For orders where Loop never gets a delivery date, it will fallback based on fulfillment date. This can be configured in the return policy.
To learn more, please review the Advanced Return Window Settings article.
Updated requirements for new API keys When a merchant now goes to edit or create a new API key, they will be required to name it, offering consistency and reducing confusion when managing API keys.
